About Us
Our Promise to Clients and Families at St. Elizabeth Hospice Care, Inc.
- We promise to keep our patients as pain free and comfortable as possible. We will also provide emotional and spiritual comfort and support to the patient’s family.
- We promise to stay at the patient’s bedside as long as necessary in a crisis situation. We will not leave the patient’s home or care facility until the crisis situation is concluded.
- We promise to remain in contact with the patient’s family member after the passing of their loved one, providing grief counseling and other bereavement services.
Who are the members of a hospice team?
- Physicians who are expert in taking care of patients with terminal illness
- Nurses, who regularly visit the patient to assess the patient’s symptoms and responses to treatment
- Home health aides, who assist with the patient’s personal care including: bathing, hygiene, feeding, etc.
- Social workers who asses the emotional needs of the patient and their family members and who work to get any possible government financial support that is available
- Chaplains who provide spiritual support to the patient and their family members
- Volunteers who provide the patient with compassionate companionship and assist the patient by performing day to day tasks such as running errands
